Can You Earn An Online Degree Fast If You Want To?
In this day and age of instant gratification, commercials that imply you can earn a degree in your pajamas sitting around the house, and instant this and that it’s the question every perspective online degree education student wants answered – how long is this going to take? The short answer – it all depends.
Okay. What does that mean? It means what field of study are you wanting to earn your degree in? For example, a Marketing Degree would be easier to earn than a comparable degree in Computer Science. The later will take more effort and more time to study to do well. This means you will take fewer courses each semester. Do you have any prior college credits you’d like to transfer? Can they be transferred? Will they need to be taken again if they can’t? Where did you earn the credits? Do you have credits earned from advance placement tests to equal the credit for a course rather than taking it as a college course?
Does the online degree college you plan to attend have a required degree path to follow to help students earn their degree? If so, what is shortest amount of time it can be completed? As you can quickly see determining how long it will take to complete an online degree is not simply a matter of saying I plan to do it in 18 months for example. In a previous post about this topic, my view is that the time investment should be the least of your worries or whether you can get an online degree fast. Rather, your focus ,if correct, should be on identifying the degree you want to earn, taking all necessary steps to insure you perform to the best of your abilities in each class, and using strategies to help you achieve your goal.
Yes, you can earn an online degree fast – if fast is 2 1/2 year at a minimum with some prior college work. Even that is very aggressive. During the process of earning that online degree you will have enough challenges without adding the stress of trying to meet a compressed time frame for graduation that might not be realistic. Focus less on earning an online degree fast and accept it that it will take the amount of time it will take. Doing so will greatly improve your overall online degree education experiences and success.
